Cody is
approximately 4 years old. He was bought as a pet and lived with a single woman and her newborn in a mobile home in
Torrance, CA. Early on the bobcat was not put into a good environment and soon clawed the newborn baby's
face when trying to get the baby's bottle. After relatives of the woman threatened to turn her in to child protective
services she finally decided to call us to take in her bobcat on a loan basis.
We agreed knowing full-well that the cat would soon be in our full custody. When retrieving the cat from her house we
could not help but notice that the living conditions were far from clean for animals or people and we decided right there
that this person was never going to get the cat back. Since then Cody has
enjoyed his life here at Forever Wild
surrounded by other bobcats.
Forever Wild tries our best to educate as many people
as we come into contact with on how exotic animals do not make good pets. They cannot be domesticated now
or ever. They are wild animals and should be left in the wild to live free as we do everyday.
These animals are born with natural instincts to survive against predators and the environment. We
cannot think by trying to encourage wild animals to take on k-9 like training that they will be completely under our command.
With knowledge and respect Forever Wild hopes that someday people will realize that these type of animals are better
to be looked at and admired for their awesome beauty but not held captive as a fascination or trophy.
